Global design marketplace The Bruno Effect celebrates two years of rapid growth with a new name, Effetto
Founded by former 1stDibs International MD Carmine Bruno, Effetto’s new name is part of a well-funded growth strategy to achieve market-leader status.
The rapid ascent of The Bruno Effect over the last two years has presented interior designers and sellers of high-end furniture and collectibles with a welcome alternative to transactional marketplaces. As the company now enters its next phase of growth, it has marked the occasion by announcing a change of name which reflects its ambitious goal to become a market leader.
name (Italian for ‘Effect’) is an evolution of their original name The Bruno Effect
, retaining their commitment to driving actions and relationships within the design world through the power of the ‘network effect’. The Italian origin of Effetto resonates with the world of design, and as a unique word in the English language, it’s primed for discoverability.
This name change is one part of a well-funded, highly focused and multi-pronged growth plan to achieve market-leader status. Founder and CEO Carmine Bruno says: “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the past two years: an inventory of sublime quality (and more of it than any marketplace at a comparable stage); a thriving brand, a strong, loyal and expanding cohort of premium buyers, and an industry-leading experience for both buyers and sellers.”
For buyers, this experience includes professional buying tools that allow interior designers to juggle multiple projects, sharing specific portfolios with different clients. For sellers, it includes the ability to harness the marketplace as a powerful marketing channel for their own businesses. In contrast to current market leaders, Effetto’s sellers and gallerists are not anonymized – their individual businesses are actively promoted.
Effetto’s proposition is already resonating with the industry – sellers on the marketplace include New York’s Todd Merrill Studio, LA’s Twentieth, London’s Butchoff and Paris’s Negropontes; while interior designers including Kathryn Ireland, Kelly Wearstler, Nina Campbell and Greg Natale have created collections and partnered with Effetto’s digital publication, Effect Magazine
Bruno says: “As we now prepare to make further substantial investments in this exciting new growth phase under our new name, we are thrilled to have our existing buyers and sellers with us on this journey to create the ultimate marketplace for serving the design industry.”
