A fantastic Nineteenth Century oak carving of St. George and Dragon; depicting St. George in armour astride his charger and portrayed in the act of lancing the dragon.

Exhibited at Bessie Surtees House in 1934
The collection of 7th Viscount Gort, Standish Robert Vereker (1888-1975) at Hamsterley Hall, Co. Durham.
Photographed by Country Life in the drawing room of Hamsterley Hall in 1939 and 1940.
