Description
This footed baluster form vase is an exceptional example of the early Favrile Glass being produced at Louis Comfort Tiffany’s glass furnaces in the 1890s, when his glassblowers were experimenting with production methods and decorative techniques and formulas.
The body of the vase features two horizontal bands of iridescent swag decoration in silvery tones, some areas with additional white striations. These lighter decorative elements stand out against the deep blue color of the base glass.
